Fidelity and SEC meet to discuss spot Bitcoin ETF application

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently held discussions with Fidelity to delve into Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust application. The meeting involved a comprehensive review of diagrams and an in-depth examination of the operational functionality of the proposed product. This engagement signifies a pivotal step in the regulatory evaluation process for Fidelity’s Bitcoin Trust application.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently held discussions with Fidelity Investments to gain further insights into its spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) application. As outlined in a filing on December 7, the meeting involved representatives from Cboe BZX Exchange, six SEC personnel, and nine Fidelity personnel. The purpose of the meeting was to delve into the operational details of the Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust, shedding light on its intricacies and providing additional clarity for the SEC’s evaluation of Fidelity’s ETF application.
